King Salmon Fly Fishing
Chinook salmon or king salmon are the largest of Michigan salmon species. The state record is a whopping 46 pounds 1 ounce but they average around 12-14 pounds, this is the same average weight of most chinook found in Alaskan waters. Salmon fishing is a beautiful time in Baldwin, Michigan as the colorful leaves change and the salmon fill the river.
Coho Salmon Fly Fishing
Coho salmon or Silver Salmon were the first species of salmon planted in the great lakes. They were planted in the Platte River in the early 1960’s. These salmon are smaller then their cousins the Chinook but make up for in their aggressiveness and acrobatics when hooked.
